Sponsors
We wouldn't have got nearly as far as we have without the generous contributions by so many people and organizations. This is particularly true for the numerous donations of so many people of their old vinyl and CDs collections that make their way into our regular sales.
The people and organizations listed below have been singled out for being particularly helpful on an ongoing basis.
Many thanks to the Salt Spring Island's Capital Regional District branch for awarding us a $5,000 Grant In Aid last year. The money is earmarked for equipment we need to get on the air.
Allan Holmberg has helped us immensely from the start especially with coordinating all of the engineering studies that were required. He remains a great champion of our causes as well.
Country Grocer supports us in many ways. We volunteer as baggers periodically during peak times. As well contributions from all of the shoppers who have put their receipts into our donations box has been very helpful as well. They have always generously donated gift baskets for our fundraising events.
Windsor Plywood have provided us with discounts on a variety of purchases that we have made and have made several generous donations for our fundraising auction events.
Hastings House has always been a strong supporter of our drive to bring FM radio to the Gulf Islands. The hotel has often generously donated meals and accommodation to help our fundraising campaign. Hotel owner Jerry Parks also allows us to use the transmission tower on his Mt. Belcher property.
The Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 92, is a big supporter for us. The Legion has let us host vinyl record and CD sales, as well as our broadcast of the Canada Day and Labour Day concerts under the "Big Top." Most recently, they hosted our CHIR Launch Party.
The Salt Spring Inn is a supporter of community radio and a member of Club 107.9. Jeremy Milsom has helped us tremendously with several donations to our fundraising events.
Mouat's Trading Co. Ltd., has been a longtime supporter of Gulf Islands Radio, writing letters of support and donating items to our fundraising events.
